FAQ's

We aim to give you high quality service and accommodate all your queries.

With direct access to physiotherapy in Ontario, a doctor’s referral is not necessary to receive treatments at MediSprint Physiotherapy and Wellness. However, the physiotherapist may suggest that you consult a doctor for their opinion or to get further tests done. Note that some extended health benefit plan insurance companies still require a doctor’s referral for reimbursement of physiotherapy treatments. It is the responsibility of the patient to check their coverage. Both work related accidents and Motor Vehicle accidents do require a doctor’s referral.
There is ample free  parking available in our building.
We are located on Kennedy road in between Ellesmere and Progress road just above the Pharmasave Pharmacy and Progress walk in medical clinic.
We ask that you bring a pair of shorts and wear loose comfortable clothing. Please bring any medical reports pertaining to your condition. If you are coming in for an auto insurance claim or WSIB injury claim bring all relevant claim information.
You should give yourself at least 60 -90 minutes for your initial assessment and treatment. Please arrive at least 10 minutes earlier for your initial assessment to allow sufficient time for filling out intake forms. Subsequent treatments may range from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on your injury or condition.
This is highly variable. You may need one visit or you may need months of care. It depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, etc. You will be re-evaluated on a regular basis and when you see your doctor, we will provide you with a progress report with our recommendations.
Physiotherapy in our clinic includes a full thorough assessment. Once the diagnosis is made, the client is treated with a combination of manual hands on therapy, electrical modalities and an extensive therapeutic exercise program. Every client is given a home exercise program.
Yes. We strive to get you back to work as soon as physically possible. Please bring in your claim details. The cost of treatment is billed directly to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) if your claim is approved.  If you do not have a WSIB claim number prior to your first visit, you may have to pay for the visit yourself.  Once you receive your claim number, please inform us so that your visits can be re-billed to WSIB.  Once your claim is approved, you will receive reimbursement from us.
Yes.  If you are injured in a motor vehicle accident (MVA), your auto insurance will cover the cost of your treatments. We will assist you with your application forms and directly bill your auto insurance company with no cost to you. You will need a claim number and your adjuster’s name and phone number to process your claim.
We accept cash, debit card, and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) for payment.
Appointments are made to ensure your therapist has a sufficient amount of time to provide you with treatment. If you cannot make an appointment, we kindly ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice. This advanced notice will allow us to offer this appointment time to another client in need of our services. A cancellation fee equal to a private visit may be charged if the client does not show up for an appointment or cancels without sufficient notice.
Within 24 hours, unless it is an injury that has just occurred, we will see you within a few hours.

Health Insurance Coverage

Extended Health Plans

A doctor’s referral is not required for you to receive Physiotherapy

Some Extended Health Plans require a doctor’s referral for you to be reimbursed. We recommend that you contact your employer or health plan insurance company. Clients that are not using an Extended Health Plan (paying out of pocket) do not require a doctor’s referral.

Motor Vehicle Insurance

You may receive treatment and all costs are covered by your insurance

If you have been involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) and require treatment for your injuries, you will need to contact your Auto Insurer. Your Physiotherapist can assess and provide treatment for your injuries. A Doctor’s referral is not required and treatment may begin immediately.

Work Related (WSIB)

Approved claims are directly billed to WSIB and no payment is required

If you have suffered a work related injury, you are required to inform your employer as soon as possible. You should also contact your physiotherapist so they can fully assess you and inform WSIB. You may contact your doctor; however, a doctor’s referral is not required for physiotherapy coverage with WSIB.
